250μm BOPET Film: Structural-Weight Polyester Film for Demanding Converting

The Thickest Grade in the Range, with 190% MD Elongation and Reliable Dimensional Stability

Product Overview

This is the thickest grade in the BOPET range — a structural-weight film rather than a thin optical layer. At 250μm it holds its shape under load, resists deformation through repeated handling, and still keeps 190% MD elongation, so it bends instead of cracking. Light transmittance is 84.0% with 3.0% haze, which is normal for a film at this gauge; the priority here is body and durability, not maximum clarity.

Technical Characteristics

The following values are typical data for the 250μm specification. They are not intended as limiting specifications.

  • Material: BOPET (Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate)
  • Thickness: 250 μm
  • Light Transmittance (550nm): 84.0%
  • Haze: 3.0%
  • Tensile Strength: MD 176 MPa / TD 186 MPa
  • Elongation at Break: MD 190% / TD 150%
  • Thermal Shrinkage at 150°C, 30min: MD 0.9% / TD 0.6%
  • UL746B: RTI Electrical 105°C, Mechanical 105°C

Key Properties

  • Thickest standard gauge with high MD elongation
  • Holds shape under load and resists cracking
  • Low MD shrinkage for dimensional control
  • Durable through repeated mechanical handling

Applications

250μm BOPET Film is used as a structural base film, flat-face release, membrane switches, labels, printing and lamination, die-cut parts, and any application requiring a thick, durable PET film. Target industries include printing and graphic arts, electronics, label and packaging, and heavy industrial converting.
